June 4, 2008 Dress Rehearsal Waiting in the Wings at Civic Theatre

Wednesday, June 4 Civic Theatre’s dress rehearsal performance of the comedy, Waiting in the Wings” Noel Coward’s tribute to theatre is set in The Wings, a dilapidated charity home for aged actresses. Jealousy abounds among the former stars, and sets the stage for a wealth of sophisticated wit and a collection of tangled subplots. While some of the home’s inhabitants idle away with needlepoint and chatter, a feud between two rival Grande’ Dames fills the home with classic banter and one-liners that are a signature of Coward’s style.
